Musical Notes ♫♬ (Archive)

"How we spend our days, is of course, how we spend our lives".

Writing NFTB each week is very satisfying and I enjoy the research but as luck would have it in the year 2012 most of the resources I use now are online.  I'm not pulling the plug just yet on NFTB.  Instead of facts and fun tidbits on our church music history I would like to share a daily hymn for you to use during along with your Lenten devotions.  These are suggestions put out by Augsburg Fortress in their "Bread for the Day, Daily Bible Readings and Prayers for 2012".  I hope these will help to deepen your faith walk during Lent.

Sunday, Feb. 26:  O Lord, throughout These Forty Days, ELW 319
Monday Feb 27:  What a Friend We Have in Jesus, ELW 742
Tuesday, Feb 28:  When We Are Living, ELW 639
Wednesday, Feb 29:  If You But Trust in God to Guide You, ELW 769
Thursday, March 1:  Shout to the Lord, ELW 821
Friday, March 2:  Faith of Our Fathers, ELW 812/813
Saturday, March 3:  O Christ the Same, ELW 760

ELCA Anti-Racism Pledge

As church we are called to confess the sin of racism, condemn the ideology of white supremacy and strive for racial justice and peace. Beyond statements and prayers, we are also called to act and respond to injustices. We invite you to commit to anti-racist actions at ELCA.org/RacialJusticePledge.

  • Jeremiah 29:24-32

28For he has actually sent to us in Babylon, saying, "It will be a long time; build houses and live in them, and plant gardens and eat what they produce." 29The priest Zephaniah read this letter in the hearing of the prophet Jeremiah.
