Recently at GA

Beginning on Rally Day, September 27, Sunday School for children will start at 10:00 a.m (Please note the new time).  A core group of teachers will dig right into the curriculum and take the time necessary to explore the weekly lesson. A new curriculum will be offered from Augsburg Fortress.  The curriculum follows a four-part sequence: Welcome, Hear, Respond and Launch. Each week, kids and leaders start their time together by identifying where they are in the church year and watching an animated video to set up the lesson. Next, they dive into the Whirl Story Bible or Whirl NRSV Bible together, respond to the scripture lesson with creative leaflet activities, and circle up to review the lesson and pray before being sent out.

Why we chose the Whirl curriculum?

  • Bible-centered approach
  • Characters kids can relate to
  • Age-appropriate resources
  • Lectionary simplified
  • Connects to the wider church
  • Faith that sends out

Collecting Food for the Hungry and Homeless

As the weather begins to change, life for those who are hungry and homeless becomes even more difficult. Please bring non-perishable food items and place them in the baskets at the sanctuary entrance. The food we collect will be taken to the food pantry at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lower Eastside.

Healing Services

We offer brief healing services on the 1st and 3rd Sundays each month. These are powerful times of anointing and prayer. They are held in the sanctuary after the 11 AM service.
