thumb Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church 150th timeline

This congregation is celebrating the 150th anniversary of its formation, Nov. 2, 1865. A large number of worshipers gathered Oct. 25 including Bishop Rimbo who preached. A “tasty” light reception was offered featuring all kinds of Swedish delights.  This marks the beginning of a year-long celebration with other exciting events to come. A commemorative booklet (download) was produced and many other historical photos, beautiful old Bibles and fascinating documents will be displayed on Sundays over the coming year. Thanks to all who helped make this first event so joyful!!

Daily Bible Verse

  • 1 Samuel 5:1-12

The inhabitants of Gath replied, "Let the ark of God be moved on to us." So they moved the ark of the God of Israel to Gath. 9But after they had brought it to Gath, the hand of the LORD was against the city, causing a very great panic; he struck the inhabitants of the city, both young and old, so that tumors broke out on them.
