Recently at GA

We will install Matthew as “Theologian in Residence” @GA. Though he lived Iowa for the last couple of years, serving as Associate Dean for The Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Matthew joined GA a couple of years ago because he felt a strong bond, a call to be rooted in this particular faith community.

At his own expense, Matthew would fly into NYC regularly to attend worship and on occasion preach.  His duties will include preaching, teaching, discipleship and leadership development.  Matthew brings an amazing energy, a deep and abiding faith/witness in the gospel, and an innovative entrepreneurial spirit which is impacting the wider church and will bless this congregation.

He is well known and highly respected across the Church in our country.  Welcome friend and gospel partner!!   Also joining us that day will be The Rev. Louise Johnson, president of the Wartburg Seminary, who will preach.

Collecting Food for the Hungry and Homeless

As the weather begins to change, life for those who are hungry and homeless becomes even more difficult. Please bring non-perishable food items and place them in the baskets at the sanctuary entrance. The food we collect will be taken to the food pantry at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lower Eastside.

Healing Services

We offer brief healing services on the 1st and 3rd Sundays each month. These are powerful times of anointing and prayer. They are held in the sanctuary after the 11 AM service.

Daily Bible Verse

  • 2 Kings 5:1-14

But his servants approached and said to him, "Father, if the prophet had commanded you to do something difficult, would you not have done it? How much more, when all he said to you was, 'Wash, and be clean'?"
