What's Happening at GA

For over 150 years our fellowship at Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church has demonstrated its witness to the gospel and has served countless numbers of parishioners in dynamic and innovative ways.

Looking to the future, we are determined to lay the foundation so that initiatives, such as our Open Arms Preschool Program, continue to thrive. Insuring our congregation’s healthy fiscal sustainability is a major priority. As you know, early in the new year we will be launching an ambitious major gifts fundraising campaign, under the theme, “Shine God’s Light – Together As One.”

Several GA members are working diligently to plan, prepare and present the campaign. Thanks to: Anthony Geraci, Bob Tobing, Jeanne Matson, Tenu Avafia, Deacon Lulu Paolini, Deacon John Ogren, Abbie Riekena, Nic Handahl, Zach Dean, Pastor Elise Brown, and Pastor Chris.

Collecting Food for the Hungry and Homeless

As the weather begins to change, life for those who are hungry and homeless becomes even more difficult. Please bring non-perishable food items and place them in the baskets at the sanctuary entrance. The food we collect will be taken to the food pantry at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lower Eastside.

Healing Services

We offer brief healing services on the 1st and 3rd Sundays each month. These are powerful times of anointing and prayer. They are held in the sanctuary after the 11 AM service.

Daily Bible Verse

  • 2 Kings 2:1-12

But Elisha said, "As the LORD lives, and as you yourself live, I will not leave you." So they went down to Bethel. The company of prophets who were in Bethel came out to Elisha, and said to him, "Do you know that today the LORD will take your master away from you?" And he said, "Yes, I know; keep silent."
