What's Happening at GA

From the moment of our baptisms, God guides us in a life-long journey of growing in faith and in service to others.  This congregation is one of a number of sites which hosts a remarkable 2-year discipleship development program called diakonia.  Twelve 5-week courses are offered over 2 years, Wednesdays, 6:30-9:30 p.m.. (summers off).  This year’s classes include:

  • Introduction to the Old Testament
  • Christian Doctrine
  • Lutheran Faith in the American Context
  • Practical Ministry III: Communicating the Gospel
  • Christian Worship
  • Themes & Issues in Christian Ethics

The goal is to help each person grow spiritually and strengthen their gifts for ministry.  It is life transforming!!! For more information please contact Deacon Camille Holman or go to: mnys.org and type in diakonia.  This is an incredible experience!!!

Collecting Food for the Hungry and Homeless

As the weather begins to change, life for those who are hungry and homeless becomes even more difficult. Please bring non-perishable food items and place them in the baskets at the sanctuary entrance. The food we collect will be taken to the food pantry at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lower Eastside.

Healing Services

We offer brief healing services on the 1st and 3rd Sundays each month. These are powerful times of anointing and prayer. They are held in the sanctuary after the 11 AM service.
