Though it was mighty cold Ash Wednesday last year, a hearty cast of GA characters ventured out to the local parks prepared and willing to offer ashes and pray with folks. About 20 people (including the president and dean of Wartburg Lutheran Seminary, Iowa) split into teams to cover: Union Square, Madison Square Park, Herald Square, and Times Square. One team stayed at the church all afternoon. These folks stood with 900+ “neighbors” to pray with them by name and remind them how much God loves them. We plan to do the same this year.
We invite you to join us for this powerful and holy experience. We’ll meet for the noon service on Feb. 14 and then head out in teams afterward. Please join us.
