Diakonia at GA

Please consider enrolling in a very powerful, faith strengthening, life changing experience.

Diakonia is a spiritual formation and theological education program for adults.  Created by former Bishop Bouman in the Metro NY Synod, this program has been serving the New York region for 30+ years, helping lay members of churches grow in their faith, sharpen their skills for service and deepen one's sense of purpose/connection with God and the church.

The program is a weekly in-depth evening spiritual formation (two year course of study).

If you have questions, Deacon Lulu and Pastor Chris would be pleased to talk with you.

Collecting Food for the Hungry and Homeless

As the weather begins to change, life for those who are hungry and homeless becomes even more difficult. Please bring non-perishable food items and place them in the baskets at the sanctuary entrance. The food we collect will be taken to the food pantry at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lower Eastside.

Healing Services

We offer brief healing services on the 1st and 3rd Sundays each month. These are powerful times of anointing and prayer. They are held in the sanctuary after the 11 AM service.

Daily Bible Verse

  • Matthew 5:38-42

"You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.' But I say to you, Do not resist an evildoer. But if anyone strikes you on the right cheek, turn the other also; and if anyone wants to sue you and take your coat, give your cloak as well; and if anyone forces you to go one mile, go also the second mile. Give to everyone who begs from you, and do not refuse anyone who wants to borrow from you.
