  • Celebrate The Traditional Swedish Santa Lucia - 12/14

Saint Lucy’s Day (Santka Lucia) is the church feast day dedicated to St. Lucy (observed Dec. 13).  It marks, together with Advent, the beginning of the Christmas season. It remains a tradition celebrated in Scandinavia, especially Sweden. The celebration includes the procession of a young woman wearing a crown of candles carrying sweets.  During coffee hour, we sing the traditional Santa Lucia songs.  Afterward, Gretchen will lead us in our favorite Christmas hymns. Come enjoy the food and festivities at coffee hour!

Collecting Food for the Hungry and Homeless

As the weather begins to change, life for those who are hungry and homeless becomes even more difficult. Please bring non-perishable food items and place them in the baskets at the sanctuary entrance. The food we collect will be taken to the food pantry at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lower Eastside.

Healing Services

We offer brief healing services on the 1st and 3rd Sundays each month. These are powerful times of anointing and prayer. They are held in the sanctuary after the 11 AM service.

Daily Bible Verse

  • Mark 10:32-34, 46-52

And they called the blind man, saying to him, "Take heart; get up, he is calling you." So throwing off his cloak, he sprang up and came to Jesus. Then Jesus said to him, "What do you want me to do for you?" The blind man said to him, "My teacher, let me see again." Jesus said to him, "Go; your faith has made you well." Immediately he regained his sight and followed him on the way.
