“The Holy Spirit gathers people around the means of grace – the saving word of God and the sacraments; from the table of communion where Jesus Christ comes with forgiveness, life, and salvation, God sends us to share the good news and to care for those in need.” (Evangelical Lutheran Worship)

Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church is a Christian community dedicated to growing the personal faith of its members, strengthening the support and connection between its members and becoming a religious resource in its urban neighborhood surroundings. GA thrives through a foundation of service to Christ and a commitment to spiritual development and outreach.
We have been a source of spiritual and community strength in the Gramercy Park area for over 150 years. Our Open Arms Preschool is founded on the philosophy that play is a child's vehicle for learning.
We are within walking distance to many of Manhattan's east side neighborhoods including Kips Bay, Peter Cooper Village & Stuyvesant Town, the Lower East Side, and Murray Hill. We are conveniently located to public transportation.
Even though GA's is building are open on a limited basis, ministry continues. You can make your offering online. We have multiple ways to give: Vanco, Venmo, Text to Give, and PayPal.
We welcome you to subscribe to "Bread of the Day," a daily email including scripture, song and prayer from GA! We will continue to offer this devotion during the COVID-19 shutdown. Also, please see below for information about resources such as Worship in the Home and Christ in our Home.
