Sunday Worship at 2:30 PM

Join us in-person or on Facebook Live every Sunday!

What to Expect

  • All are welcome to pick-up a bulletin from our greeters as they enter into the space. These bulletins have the order of worship on it and details that might be helpful for first-time worshippers and returners alike!

  • We follow the ancient liturgy of the church in a modern context. Our services are rooted in the long stream of liturgical church worship, with an emphasis on congregational singing.

  • We use “Evangelical Lutheran Worship” which is the current primary liturgical and worship guidebook and hymnal for use in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

  • GA has an Open Table meaning we offer communion to everyone. You are also welcome to remain at your seat or to ask to receive a blessing.

  • During the service, we exchange ‘The Peace’ with one another. We take time to greet one another and shake hands. If you aren’t comfortable with shaking hands that’s okay— just put up a peace sign!

  • We hope you’ll join us for coffee hour after service.

Life Passages

  • Legend has it that Martin Luther placed a large plaque in his room that read: “When you wash your face, remember your baptism. ” For Lutherans our baptism is not a one off event, but a constant reality in which we live. Remembering our baptism is a way of daily dying and rising, confessing and hearing again God’s words of forgiveness and grace.

If you would like to discuss getting baptized, or baptizing a child please reach out to ga.churchny@gmail.com .

  • Marriage is a gift of God, intended for the joy and mutual strength of those who enter it and for the well-being of the whole human family. The Holy Spirit helps those who are united in marriage to be living signs of God’s grace, love and faithfulness. Marriage is also a human estate, with vows publicly witnessed. The church in worship surrounds these promises with the gathering of God’s people, the witness of the word of God, and prayers of blessing and intercession.

The ELCA recognizes Same-Sex Marriage and GA is fully affirming in our support of Same-Sex Marriage.

  • At a persons death, the church shares the grief of those who mourn, and remembers the brevity of life on earth. At the funeral we give voice to sorrow, thank God for our loved one, and entrust this companion of ours into the hands of God.
